A clairvoyant has been brought in by the family of a missing Lifford man in the hope to find him and end their heartache.
The woman was contacted by the family of David Colhoun who went missing in the early hours of last Sunday after escaping from police custody in Strabane.
The 22 year old’s heartbroken family and his girlfriend Nicola McConnell believe David may have tried to cross the River Mourne to get home.
Gardai, the PSNI and hundreds of locals have mounted searches along the river for the past two days but there has been no sign of the missing man from Beechwood Avenue.
Some of Mr Colhoun’s family have also been critical of the PSNI’s lack of co-operation in the search for David.
The family contacted divers from Dundalk who are believed to have come to the scene but have been hampered by poor conditions.
Donegaldaily has also learned that the family have also been speaking with a clairvoyant in the hope of locating David.
A family source revealed “At this stage we are just so frustrated and we just want David home. We are hoping that he never actually crossed the river but decided just to keep his head down somewhere else.
“But as the days goes on things don’t look good. David has not contacted Nicola or any of his family. They are all going out of their minds with worry.
“A member of the family did contact a clairvoyant who has told them a couple of places she feels David may be. They are trying anything at this stage because they are just so desperate to get David home.”
Searches for the missing man have started again this morning with dozens of locals assisting in the search along the banks of the river.
