LETTERKENNY businessman Pascal Blake will be nominated as a new town councillor, Labour Party sources in Dublin confirmed today.
Donegaldaily.com understands Mr Blake was one of a number of people in the town who had been spoken to by newly-elected Senator Jimmy Harte as a possible replacement for him.
Mr Blake, a psychiatric nurse and undertaker, is a brother-in-law of former Senator Sean Maloney and has a huge interest in local politics.
Senator Harte refused to confirm the appointment today.
However a source in Labour Party in Dublin said Mr Blake was their first choice for the Letterkenny council position.
No candidate has yet emerged for the vacant Donegal County Council seat.
