BREAKING NEWS: Firefighters and Defence Force personnel are tonight trying to fight five more gorse fires.

Eyewitnesses in several towns and villages have told donegaldaily.com in the past few minutes of new blazes just as exhausted crews continued to tackle fires elsewhere.

There are now reports of more fires in or near Glenties, Kilraine, Ardara and Tullycleve.

Four houses in Ardara were just feet from being smothered by flames.

And in the last few minutes we are getting reports of three gorse fires in Fanad and one near Termon.
