The body of tragic Ballintra woman Elaine Morrow is expected to be brought back to Donegal this weekend by her family.
Elaine, 23, died while on a diving trip in Australia on Monday week last, April 18th.
She was scuba-diving with friends at Langford Island of the Whitsunday Islands when she failed to resurface with the rest of the team.
Her body was found a short time later on the ocean floor but despite attempts to revive her, she was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Queensland Coroner released Elaine’s body to her family on Wednesday last following a post-mortem.
A spokesperson for the Queensland Coroner said an inquest in her death is yet to be made.
Elaine’s tragic death led to a huge outpouring of grief in South West Donegal from where she had left in January to live in Australia.
Local county councillor said the entire area was numb and still in disbelief at Elaine’s death.
One of Elaine’s closest school-pals was international model Faye Dinsmore who said she was still finding it hard to accept the news that something so terrible had happened to someone she knew.
