A homecoming event for Gerard Byrne from Donegal town took place tonight after he won the U-12 Irish World Dancing Championships in Dublin yesterday.
The Drimarone native beat of stiff competition to pick up the world title.
Supporters crammed the Diamond to cheer the youngster home.
Said neighbour Seamus Campbell: “We are delighted for Gerard. He has done the whole county proud by becoming the best in the world.”
