The Letterkenny Comhaltas is celebrating 50 years of music at the Hughie McGovern Weekend in the town.
And on Friday night there was a great turnout at the Regional Cultural Centre for the Annual Living Tradition concert which saw a celebration of the country’s music, singing and dancing culture.
Performers young and old took to the stage for a number of shows before the Comhaltas members finished the show with some superb tunes.
And Seamus Gibson was presented with a medal and citation from Comhaltas national organisation for 30 years of service.
This year’s Musical/Cultural Tour is off to Inishowen today.
Nightly sessions will take place in Gallaghers’Hotel this weeknd and the farewell session in the Clanree Hotel will follow the Musicians’ Mass in the Church of the Irish Martyrs at 5.00pm.
