INISHOWEN TO GET A SPRING CLEAN-UP

Operation Clean-Up Inishowen gets underway tomorrow when hundreds of people are expected to get out across the Peninsula to give it a spring clean.

All local councillors, community and sporting groups are expected to take part in the clean-up from Buncrana to Malin.

All local public representatives have been given access to clean-up materials including plastic bags and bright-bibs to ensure people’s safety while out and about.

Mayor of Buncrana Michael Grant has appealed to as many people as possible to come out and do their bit.

“We want to give Inishowen a real spring clean and the reaction so far has been really positive.

“We would ask people to come out of their front doors and have a look around their homes for one hundred yards and get cleaning.

“Of course the emphasis is on safety and we would appeal to people to make sure all children who are taking part are looked after,” he said.
