Traffic tailbacks in some areas spelled misery for some motorists, but the sunshine was a welcome boost to the local economy.

And Alcorns Garden Centre in Letterkenny was pulling in the crowds to its new €500k butterfly house.
The weather was a welcome boost ahead of a later Easter tourism trade.
The warm weather however will end today with April showers and colder temperatures of around 10C returning for the next few days.
However the BBC is reporting a return to drier weather late on Thursday in time for the weekend and the start of a fortnight’s holidays for many schools in the county.
