A new Irish Language Broadcast Fund dating series following two singletons on a romantic odyssey in search of their ‘Mo Ghrá Gael’ begins tonight at 8.30pm on TG4.
The series sees presenters and college friends, Muireann Ní Bheaglaoich and Rónán Mac Niallais travel to Dublin and onto Galway, Donegal, Derry and Belfast looking for love.
Produced and directed by Sarah Reddin (Ireland’s Richest) and Edel O’Mahony with TG4’s Máire Ní Chonláin (Mad Dog Coll) and Waddell Media’s Jannine Waddell (How Long Will You Live) as executive producers, the series shot last year and saw singletons, Muireann and Rónán go on a road trip around Ireland to see if they can find true love through various dates in several locations.
Both are passionate about all things Irish and they have a long list of requirements for anyone hoping to win their hearts.
Series producer and director Sarah Reddin tells the IFTN website she sees a future for the format: “I don’t think anything like this has been done in either English or Irish,”she says. “I can definitely see it having legs.”
The series’ key cinematographers were Paul Littler (Facing the Enemy) and Paddy Stevenson (Sunset Heights).
The series will be aired on TG4 on Wednesday nights from the 6th April at 8.30pm (repeated on Thursdays at 10.30pm) and you can follow their journey online at moghragael.com.
