Letterkenny AC’s Michael Black was the winner of today’s St Patrick’s Day 5K road race in Letterkenny in a time of 16:09, with James Brown of City of Derry second in 16:25 and Paul McGlinchey of Letterkenny Ac third in 16:26.
Inishowen’s Helena Crossan made a winning return to competition after a long lay off because of injury when taking the honours in the senior woman’s section in 18:27 from Bronagh O’Gara of the 24/7 Triathlon Club who clocked 19:20.
Letterkenny AC’s Martin Gormley of Letterkenny AC was the first veteran runner in 17:25. A record number of 143 runners finished the race.
