COURT documents in the Francois de Dietrich fraud inquiry show he had refused over a period of months to comply with a number of orders to cooperate with the North’s Financial Services Authority.
Below is one document from the courts showing how he had refused to cooperate on FIVE different dates before a High Court judge jailed him for 18 months.
His brazen refusal explains the severity of the sentence.

In the Matter of an Application on behalf of the Plaintiff for an Order to commit the First Named Defendant, Francois De Dietrich, to prison for contempt in disobeying an Order of this Honourable Court dated 27 October 2010 (“the Order”), as varied by the Orders of this Honourable Court on 4 November 2010, 25 November 2010 and 1 December 2010, under the inherent jurisdiction of the Court and/or Orders 45 and/or 52 of the Rules of the Court of Judicature (NI) 1980.
And in the Matter of an Application on behalf of the Plaintiff under Section 177 (2) of the Financial Services and Markets 2000 (“the Act”) to commit the First Named Defendant to prison for contempt by reason of the First Defendants’ default in complying with the information and document production requirement notices of the authorised officers of the Plaintiff pursuant to Section 173 of the said Act.
Whereas by an order dated 27 October 2010, it was ordered that the first Defendant, Francois De Dietrich whether in his own name or not and whether solely or jointly owned, giving the value, location and details of all such assets.
If and to the extent that the First Defendant, Francois De Dietrich is unable to provide the information sought he must say why he cannot give the information sought, must say what efforts he has made to provide the information, must say what further efforts he will be making to provide the information sought, and must say when he anticipates that information being available.
UPON THIS APPLICATION of the Plaintiff pursuant to a Notice of Motion dated 22 December 2010, AND UPON READING the documents recorded on the Court file as having been read, CO3883183 10/136811/05

(1) For his contempt that the first Defendant do stand committed to Her Majesty’s Prison, Maghaberry, there to be imprisoned forthwith for the period of 18 MONTHS.
