FINN HARPS are on the verge of signing highly-rated Sligo Rovers midfielder Conor O’Grady.
O’Grady was with Rovers last season and impressed many but couldn’t keep a place down with the Bit o Red.
He has been training with Harps since last week and has now been offered a contract by Harps boss James Gallagher.
“We sat down with him earlier in the week and told him we would be interested in signing him.
“WE are hoping we can have a decision from him later this week,” confirmed the Harps boss.
Many at the Showgrounds were disappointed that O’Grady did not get more of a chance.
However with a large squad at Rovers, O’Grady thought it was time to move on and seek first team football elsewhere.
Alongside Packie Mailey, who has decided to stay in Ballybofey for the coming season, Harps are strengthened going into their first game against Cork City at Turners Cross on March 4.
