The Department of Education and Science has given the go-ahead for an extension to Gaelscoil Adhnamhnáin, Glencar, Letterkenny.
Stage two documents were submitted to the Building Unit in the past few months and approved with just a few minor amendments.
The school is understood to have welcomed the news and is now waiting approval to go to tender.
