MANCINI PLOTS ROMA LOAN MOVE FOR SHAY GIVEN

MAN CITY manager Roberto Mancini will let Shay Given go out on loan next month – but he prefers if he goes to Italy.

Italian giants Roma are understood to want the Lifford man until the end of the season on loan with a possible purchase.

It’s understood Mancini would prefer if Given did go abroad, so he doesn’t end up in goals for a Premiership club.

Aston Villa is the latest in a list of clubs to enquire about Given – with Arsenal, Celtic, Liverpool and even Manchester United linked to the player.

A move back to Newcastle has also been mentioned.
