A tiny one-room cottage on the west Donegal coast has just gone on the market with an asking price of almost €80,000.

Situated on a 1.04 acre plot near Dungloe, the stone dwelling has a floor area of just 30 square metres (323 sq ft) and is in need of complete restoration. It has been uninhabited for a number of years. The remains of a second cottage are also part of the sale.

Located in the townland of Marameelan, on the banks of Traighenna Bay, it is just a few minutes drive from Dungloe town, according to Campbells Auctioneers.

“Boasting unrestricted views over Traighenna Bay towards Lettermacaward and beyond, the property is ideally located for a modern dwelling, subject to planning permission,” the auctioneer said.
