The body of a woman in her 70s has been recovered from the River Finn this afternoon.
A major search operation was mounted on Monday evening after a woman was reported missing in the area.
The multi agency search involved the Coastguard Rescue 118 helicopter, Gardaí, Donegal Mountain Rescue Team and local volunteers.
The search was stood down this Tuesday afternoon.
The woman’s body was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital where a post-mortem will take place at a later date.
A garda spokesperson confirmed that all circumstances are being investigated at this time.
