Donegal Jr B V Armagh Notre Dame July 22nd 2012
Donegal Jr Bs came away victorious under a blistering Sunday afternoon in Canton Massachussetts.
Donegal had the upper hand for most of the game and the Armagh back line struggled in vain to keep Michael Kelly and Pauric Mc Laughlin at bay. Donegal opened the scoring with points from Doherty and Mc Laughlin and a goal from Kelly. A clash between Armaghs Jordan Aragones and Buncranna man Mc Laughlin left Pauric on the side line temporarily as his injury was assessed.
Armagh shot back with 2 points but to Donegals relief Mc Laughlin announced his return to the field with a goal and a point! Another chance at goal came as a well-played ball from Michael Mc Bride passed up the field to Michael Kelly narrowly missing the Armagh net.
Armagh were awarded a penalty with minutes to go in the first half and got a result. The score going in at half time was 2-10 to 1-03 in Donegals favor.
The second half saw Donegal extend the lead with a goal from Paul Boyce and points from Derek Nolan and Mc Laughlin. Armagh were far behind midway through the second half until two goals, in quick succesion and two points from the Orchard County bridged the gap. However there was not enough time for the Armagh men to even the score and Donegal came away with the points.
